Travel Information
To ensure a smooth and comfortable arrival at the Teagasc Food Research Centre – Ashtown, Dublin 15, we have outlined the following transportation options from Dublin Airport. These recommendations have been selected to make your journey as convenient as possible:
Uber / Ride-Hailing Services
Uber, Bolt, and Free Now operate in Dublin. Pick-up from Dublin Airport is located at the designated ride-hailing zones outside Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. Simply follow the signs for “App Pickup” and wait for your driver at the location indicated in your app. If you cannot locate your driver, please contact them directly through the app.
Taxi
Official taxis are readily available at the taxi ranks outside both terminal buildings. We recommend choosing a licensed taxi, which will be clearly marked and equipped with a meter. The estimated travel time to the Teagasc Food Research Centre is approximately 20–30 minutes, depending on traffic.
Private Transfer
For a more personalised and seamless experience, you may arrange a private transfer in advance. This option ensures a direct and comfortable journey from the airport to the venue. (Contact details for private transfer providers can be arranged upon request.)
Car Rental
If you prefer the flexibility of driving, several reputable car rental companies operate onsite at Dublin Airport. Follow the signage to the car rental desks located in the arrivals area. The Teagasc facility offers convenient parking for visitors.

Public Transportation
Dublin’s public transport system is available and reliable, although it may involve multiple connections to reach Ashtown. From the airport, you can take the Aircoach or Dublin Bus to the city centre, then transfer to:
-
A train from Dublin Connolly or Docklands Station to Ashtown Station, followed by a short taxi ride to Teagasc, or
-
A Dublin Bus service towards Dublin 15 with a transfer to a local bus or taxi for the final stretch.
This option may take longer but remains cost-effective for travellers who prefer public transit.
We look forward to welcoming you and wish you a pleasant journey to the event venue!
